The charitable organization SHCHEDRYK, in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, continues to implement an important project aimed at supporting agriculture, business, and vocational training in southern Ukraine.
🚜 Assistance to households near the front line

Since October, the team has been actively working in the Kalynivska and Chornobaivska communities in the Kherson region to help local residents resume their activities and work despite the extraordinary challenges.
“We understand that projects such as ‘Assistance to Frontline Households’ are key to recovery. To date, we have collected over 900 applications from residents for assistance,” said project manager Denys Khimi at a scheduled meeting with partners on November 25.

Regular meetings between the UN WFP and its partners, including representatives of the Mykolaiv offices of the charitable organization SHCHEDRYK and the Southern Development Strategy, are yielding significant results.
💰 Results of support for the agricultural sector

During the project implementation, specialists from the SHCHEDRYK Charitable Organization checked more than 3,000 households that applied for assistance in the Bashtanka, Gorokhiv, and Shyroke communities. Households were able to choose one of three options (a motor-block, a 3×10 greenhouse, or a drip irrigation kit) or cash assistance that could be spent on various tools for gardening.

A total of 2,340 households received support:
1,112 individuals chose cash assistance.
1,230 households chose equipment, namely:
736 — motor blocks.
318 — greenhouses.
175 — irrigation systems.
🧑🎓 A chance to master new professions

The project also supports those who want to acquire new skills to restore economic stability. Thanks to this initiative, 93 people have had the opportunity to learn a new profession in areas such as agricultural drone operator, pastry chef, cook, and accountant.
“We are delighted that our projects are being led by two organizations with different but highly relevant experience in helping Ukrainians improve the economic resilience of households and stimulate development in the southern region,” emphasized UN WFP Program Coordinator Volodymyr Podilchik.

Despite constant challenges, it is thanks to the solidarity of charitable, public, and international organizations that this vital support can be provided.
