From 3 to 6 October, the Aquarius Swimming Pool Sports Complex (SKPB) in Mykolaiv hosted the Ukrainian Synchronised Swimming Championships for girls and boys. Despite all the challenges, these important competitions brought together talented athletes from the Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk regions and the city of Kyiv.

Mykolaiv athletes demonstrated impressive skill and character, adding to the city and region’s trophy cabinet with a string of podium finishes:

Resilience despite concerns
The awards ceremony was held in two age categories with the participation of honoured guests, including: Secretary of the Mykolaiv City Council Dmytro Falco, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Mykolaiv City Council Iryna Bondarenko, and Ukrainian national synchronised swimming coach Marta Fedina.

However, the main symbol of these competitions was the incredible willpower of the young athletes.
“Being an athlete in a frontline region today is not easy. Even during performances, competitions had to be interrupted due to air raid alerts. Nevertheless, our children demonstrate incredible resilience and character. We are happy to support not only the youth of Mykolaiv, but also talented guests from other regions who have come to us,” said Yelyzaveta Kholyavko, spokesperson for the Shchedryk Charitable Organisation.

The charity organisation ‘Shchedryk’ has traditionally joined in supporting young talents. Therefore, in order to sweeten these well-deserved victories and support the fighting spirit, the charity organisation ‘Shchedryk’ was happy to present all the winners with sweet gifts.
We are confident that today’s youth, who demonstrate such resilience, will bring glory to Ukraine on the world stage many times over! We continue to support the development of sport and gifted young people, who are our future.
