In Dnipropetrovsk region, thousands of people can feel the effects of the war every day, and it is only through a collective effort that we can help them. That is why ‘Shchedryk’ is strengthening its presence here and expanding its network of partners.

Over the past few months, the team has established contact with representatives from more than 10 communities, including Nikopol, Marganetsk, Pokrovsk, Zelenodolsk and others.
We are also expanding our cooperation with Ukrainian and international humanitarian organisations: ADRA Ukraine, the Humanitarian Coordination Centre, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Danish Church Aid and others. Three memoranda of understanding have already been signed.

Representatives of ‘Shchedryk’ regularly participate in meetings of the National SNFI Cluster, the FSL Cluster, the OCHA Ukraine Cash Working Group and the Food Assistance Working Group (FAWG).
“For us, it is important not just to have a presence in the region, but to understand the real needs of the communities. Partnerships between communities, local organisations and humanitarian partners enable us to respond more quickly and ensure that aid is better targeted,” notes Serhiy Ostroushko, a representative of the ‘Shchedryk’ Charitable Organisation in Dnipro.

To estimate the needs of the residents, the team developed and distributed a preliminary assessment questionnaire to partners and temporary accommodation centres. The responses revealed significant demand for cash assistance, winter NFI kits, and non-food aid to prepare for winter.
We are continuing to work and seek solutions to support communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
