The Charitable Foundation “Shchedryk” has delivered another batch of humanitarian aid from the UN to the Voskresensk community.
Another batch of humanitarian aid has been delivered to the Resurrection village community as part of the cooperation with the United Nations World Food Programme in Ukraine.
The local community has more than 5,000 residents. While the community’s territory hasn’t been severely affected by military actions, it is home to a large number of vulnerable population groups, such as disabled individuals and pensioners, who require support and attention to their issues.
The assessment of the aid distribution work was joined by Alister Short, the coordinator of the food security and livelihoods cluster at the UN’s WFP, and Carolina Greda, the logistics cluster representative. During their visit, they interacted with local residents who expressed their gratitude for this initiative and emphasized the importance of the aid they received.
“There is one distribution point for humanitarian aid in the center of the community. The community has about 5,000 people, and up to 1,000 people receive aid because it’s targeted to specific categories of people. Here, 20% of the community receives aid. There are communities that haven’t been as heavily affected by the war. In this community, for example, they haven’t suffered as much from shelling, but there are vulnerable populations, such as disabled individuals and pensioners. Many people left at the beginning of the war, and now they are actively returning and rebuilding their homes,” said a representative of the “Shchedryk” charitable foundation.
Humanitarian aid is provided on a monthly basis. Representatives of the Charitable Organization “Shchedryk” ensure the even distribution of aid over two days to avoid overcrowding among residents.
