The ‘MESH: Multi-sectoral Emergency Assistance to High-Risk Communities’ project is drawing to a close, and we would like to share what we have managed to achieve over the past six months.
We wanted to support people affected by the war in communities across the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
What aid has been provided over the past six months:
- NFI kits
- Hygiene kits
- Inclusive hygiene kits
- Cash assistance of 12,300 hryvnias for evacuees and those affected by shelling
- Cash assistance of 10,800 hryvnias for the most socio-economically vulnerable groups
- Cash assistance of 31,900 hryvnias to help restore or set up small businesses or self-employment
And now – a few figures.
3,416 people received financial assistance of 10,800 hryvnias, whilst 1,379 received 12,300 hryvnias. A further 367 people made use of financial assistance amounting to 31,900 hryvnias to restart or set up their own business.
In addition to financial assistance, people also received kits: 2,400 NFI kits, 2,400 hygiene kits and 1,500 inclusive hygiene kits.
“Thousands of people have left their homes because of the war. Projects like this give them hope. Many admitted that they hadn’t expected to receive anything. We hope that our help has provided real support for these people,” say our experts.
The aid was provided as part of the ‘MESH: Multisectoral Emergency Assistance to High-Risk Communities’ project run by the ‘Shchedryk’ Charitable Organisation, coordinated by the ‘Right to Protection’ Charitable Foundation and supported by the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF).
