Grow All Season Long: Greenhouse Kits for Farms
The Shchedryk Charitable Organization, in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), is launching a greenhouse support programme for small-scale fruit and vegetable producers.
Participating communities: Snihurivska, Shevchenkivska, Shyrokivska, Zavodska (Pervomaiska), and Bereznehuvatska.
What will you receive?
A ready-to-install greenhouse kit (90 m² or 150 m²), including:
- a frame greenhouse with polycarbonate covering;
- a solid-fuel heating system to extend the growing season;
- an automatic ventilation system;
- a drip irrigation system with a water storage tank and pump station;
- installation and operational guidance.
Assistance is provided in the form of equipment, not cash.
You are eligible to participate if you:
- have been growing fruit and vegetables in open fields and/or greenhouses for at least one year;
- have experience selling your produce;
- plan to expand your greenhouse operation or transition to greenhouse cultivation;
- have not received similar assistance from other donors during the past 12 months;
- own a plot of land suitable for installing a greenhouse.
Registering as a sole proprietor is not mandatory, but it is considered an advantage.
Additional priority is given to:
- internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have relocated their agricultural activities and need to expand or restore their operations;
- farms whose greenhouses or production infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed as a result of shelling;
- greenhouse operations located on land that was previously contaminated with explosive ordnance but has since been confirmed as safe and cleared.
These criteria are not mandatory; however, under equal conditions, they provide an additional advantage to applicants who meet them.
