Co-founder of the Shchedryk Charitable Organization, Oleksandr Mosin, took part in the First Regional Forum of Social Workers, “Drivers of Care in Mykolaiv Region” which took place on October 29-31, 2025, in Mykolaiv.
About the organizers and purpose of the event
The forum was initiated by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration and implemented with financial support from the Government of Denmark and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine.
The main goal was to create a sustainable communication platform for joint strategic planning of the development of the social services system in the Mykolaiv region, bringing together regional authorities, international partners, and civil society organizations.
The event brought together about 160 participants, including representatives of regional authorities, local self-government bodies, UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, as well as social service providers and civil society organizations.


Participation of Shchedryk: Experience of non-governmental organizations
On October 30, Oleksandr Mosin spoke at the plenary session “Successful social practices: experience of non-governmental organizations in Mykolaiv region,” presenting the experience of the Shchedryk Charitable Organization as a successful example of cooperation between a public organization of persons with disabilities and international partners. He presented the organization’s achievements in supporting the most vulnerable groups: internally displaced persons, persons with disabilities, persons aged 60+, and families with children.
Particular emphasis was placed on the free social services available at Shchedryk in Mykolaiv, including a social laundry, psychological counseling, and psychosocial activities.
The co-rapporteurs at this meeting were representatives of the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of Persons with Disabilities, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, and the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation.


Key events of the forum
Ceremonial presentation of mobile services. On the second day of the forum, a ceremonial handover of keys to social vehicles, mobile administrative service centers, and family doctor vehicles (created with the support of UNDP and the Government of Denmark) took place. The new services were received by the communities of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv, Snigurivka, and Domanivka.
Key reports. Among the central topics of discussion were: “State social policy of the future: the European path, challenges, and opportunities for the regions of Ukraine” and “From state strategy to regional practice: social protection of the population in wartime.”
International partnership. A panel discussion was held with the participation of UNDP, UNHCR, and UNICEF, where the challenges, prospects, and opportunities of humanitarian support as the basis for recovery and social stability were discussed.
Resolution. The forum concluded with the adoption of a resolution containing recommendations for improving social policy and developing the social services system in the Mykolaiv region.
