The charitable organisation ‘Charitable Foundation SHCHEDRYK’ one of Ukraine’s leading non-profit organisations, which has been providing support to Ukrainians since 2022, is now entering a new phase and opening a branch in Bulgaria. This is a strategic step aimed at expanding the scale of assistance and attracting international resources for the implementation of humanitarian, social, educational and cultural projects.

Why Bulgaria?
Natalia Gorbenko, co-founder of the Shchedryk Charitable Organisation, notes that opening a European branch is a well-thought-out and strategic move. Europe has already become a temporary home for many Ukrainians. Bulgaria opens up new opportunities for cooperation with international donors and partners. This allows us to support Ukrainians even more effectively, expand volunteer programmes, organise internships and provide access to relevant programmes.

What opportunities does this open up for Ukrainians?
The opening of the European branch of Shchedryk offers a number of advantages for both Ukrainians in Ukraine and those living in Europe:
Access to international grants. The branch will provide stable funding and allow significant resources to be attracted for humanitarian and social programmes.
Operational assistance. The foundation will be able to respond more quickly to crisis situations by organising the delivery of aid to Ukraine and EU countries.
Support in Europe. The branch will serve as a point of contact for displaced persons, providing information, legal and administrative support, as well as helping them to build communities.
Entrepreneurship development. Ukrainian entrepreneurs and start-ups will have access to mentoring, educational programmes and resources for implementing social projects in Europe.
Cultural and educational initiatives. The branch will promote Ukrainian culture by organising courses, master classes and exhibitions.
Psychosocial support. A space will be created for psychological and social assistance to people who have experienced trauma due to the war.

A strategic step into the future
The opening of a branch in Bulgaria is an important step that makes Shchedryk more effective and transparent, demonstrating its strategic vision and long-term assistance. Thanks to this initiative, the foundation will not only be able to increase the amount of support it provides, but also strengthen ties between Ukrainian and international projects, raising the visibility of Ukrainian achievements on the world stage.
