On Thursday, July 10, 16 new tram drivers graduated from Mykolaivelectrotrans, who will soon provide stable and comfortable transportation around the city.

The graduates have already received their certificates and are preparing for the final exams at the Ministry of Internal Affairs to join the ranks of the municipal enterprise. The graduates were solemnly congratulated by the co-founders of our organization together with the director of the Mykolaiv Regional Employment Center, which is a key partner in the training of these valuable personnel, because we believe that investments in people are investments in the future of the city!

The Director of the KP “Mykolaivelectrotrans” Yuriy Smetana emphasized the importance of this cooperation: “We are grateful to everyone who chooses our company and joins the development of municipal transport. Special thanks to the Shchedryk Charity Fund and the Mykolaiv Regional Employment Center for their systematic support of training. Thanks to this cooperation, we can pay students the highest monthly scholarship in Ukraine – 12,000 hryvnias!”

The training of tram drivers lasted more than three months, consisting of in-depth theoretical training and mandatory practical classes.
And the stories of our graduates are the best confirmation of how important it is to create new opportunities. One of the future tram drivers, Valentina – a young mother on maternity leave, shared her motivation.

“I am a mother on maternity leave, raising a son, and I thought I could try something new. I learned about this opportunity from the Internet. Studying was not easy, but very interesting! We were nervous about the exams, but we managed! I am inspired by communicating with people and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Mykolaiv region.” This is truly motivating and shows how important it is to support people in their pursuit of development!

In turn, the Shchedryk Charity Organization, together with Oxfam, not only invests in education, but also takes care of the safety of our graduates. In memory of this important milestone, we presented future drivers with signal vests, branded in accordance with safety standards and equipped with LED strips.

“Our city is about the people who live here and who use public transport every day. Therefore, we are infinitely grateful to our partners, especially the Foreign NGO Oxfam, for their constant support, as well as to the team of the Municipal Enterprise Mykolaiv Electrotrans for their significant contribution to the development of transport infrastructure,” says Oleksandr Mosin, co-founder of the Shchedryk Charity Organization.
