Mykolaiv, Mykolaiv Oblast – the team of the «Assistance to Frontline Households» project of the Charitable Organization «Shchedryk» with the support of WFP has made a significant step in improving the quality of its work.
In order to provide assistance at the highest level, the foundation’s specialists have undergone intensive training using the latest approaches to working with the war-affected population.

The key topics of the training included:
- AAP (Accountability to Affected Populations): ensuring transparency and taking into account the needs and opinions of beneficiaries.
- Protection of beneficiaries’ rights: ensuring that the rights of each person applying for support are respected.
- Protection of gender equality: ensuring equal opportunities and avoiding discrimination on the basis of gender.
- Protection of people with disabilities: creating an inclusive environment and providing accessible assistance.
- Social integration and inclusion: promoting the involvement of vulnerable groups in community life.
- PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse): implementing strict standards of behavior and mechanisms to prevent all forms of violence.

According to project representatives, the knowledge gained is already being actively applied in practice. Each project participant has the right to complete a detailed questionnaire, having previously received full information about the foundation’s activities and possible assistance. This makes the process of providing support as transparent and understandable as possible for each person.
Special attention is paid to the security and accessibility of information. During each visit of specialists to the settlements, a specialist in the protection of the rights of recipients of assistance works. Her key task is to make sure that everyone has unimpeded access to information, can express their opinions and knows about the existence of a trust box. This box allows you to anonymously leave feedback or complaints about the work of the foundation’s specialists.

Our main goal is not just to provide assistance, but to do so in the highest quality, ethically and with respect for each person who comes to us, said the rights protection specialist.
Adding that she personally controls the issues of confidentiality, security during consultations, risk assessment and prevention of any discrimination.
It should be noted that this approach is an important step in the activities of the charitable foundation, as it allows not only to help those in need more effectively, but also builds trust between the organization and the communities it works with.
