Thanks to free courses in baking and web design organized by the “Shchedryk” charitable foundation with the support of the foreign NGO Oxfam, 24 students obtained new professions. The graduates received state-recognized certificates due to the training courses, which not only provided them with the knowledge and skills in baking and website creation but also opened up employment opportunities at the local bakery and the professional education center.

“I joined when the group had already been studying for two weeks and they knew the basics, so at first it was difficult for me because I had never dealt with web design. However, the girls from this course helped me catch up in a month, and after that, I was on par with everyone, attending classes every day, five times a week. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to gain a wealth of information,” says Alla Kovalchuk, a displaced person from Kherson.

As noted by the director of the Mykolaiv Center for Professional Education, Oleksandr Mashkov, the “Shchedryk” charitable foundation approached their institution because they are the only ones in the Mykolaiv region who train professional bakers, a profession that is very much in demand today.

“The group is excellent because all the students are very responsible and hardworking, which we, the teachers, noticed during the practical sessions, which were more frequent than the theoretical ones,” he added.

The students studied for three months thanks to the initiative of the “Shchedryk” charitable foundation and Oxfam, who opened the first Help Center in Mykolaiv: [https://center-help.info](https://center-help.info).

The graduates were congratulated by the head of the Mykolaiv City Council’s Department of Education, Hanna Lychko, along with the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Alla Velikhovska, and representatives of the Mykolaiv branch of the Regional Employment Center.
