Agriculture has always been the backbone of Ukraine’s economy, ensuring the country’s food security.
However, the Russian invasion has dealt a devastating blow to the agricultural sector, destroying fields, damaging equipment, and forcing farmers to abandon their homes. Despite all these challenges, Ukrainians are showing incredible resilience, returning to their native lands to rebuild their farms.
🔹 The Arsentiev family is a vivid example of such revival. Despite significant losses, they did not give up and went back to work. “The land is our support,” they say, believing in a better future.
👩🌾 For many Ukrainians, like Lyubov, agriculture has become not only a source of income but also a way to maintain mental balance and restore their way of life after the hardships they’ve endured. Their story is a story of the indomitability of the Ukrainian people.
👉 Thanks to the support of international organizations, such as the UN World Food Programme, people in the Mykolaiv region are receiving aid to restore their livelihoods. This is being implemented as part of a joint pilot project between the Shchedryk Charitable Foundation and the WFP.
